The design of Devi Mandir straddles many layers - contextual and formal. The design addresses questions of siting a temple along a major road in the village; addressing an existing sacred plinth beside a large neem tree; deploying local materials and interpreting the idea of sacred. The process of abstraction deals with basic relationship between plan and section, transition and light.
