Located amidst farmlands in hot and dry region of Maharashtra, the institute is conceived as low scaled, burrowed and mutually shaded masses, dispersed in multiple pockets. The site planning revolves around maximising the exposure of the cricket pitch to be viewed from all around. Sensitive to existing contours, the design surrounding the pitch behave as micro-habitats with local species, interspersed by snug composite structures of compressed stabilised earth blocks which emerge, hide and reveal as landscape elements, as one moves through the site.
